Crisis in childminding solved

What Is Noble Minder? A new online administrative support package for all childminders within England.

Noble Minder is unique because it is the only website that offers all childminders, whatever their age or level of computer know-how, a comprehensive set of online tools and resources to help with the new EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) regulations, brought into force in late 2008.

After months of research, founder Lisa Williams has broken down the dense pages of officialese into easy-to-use online tools that will free up childminders across the country to get on with their job as well as comply with the new EYFS regulations.

For a monthly subscription of £14.50 per month, childminders will enter their own tailored site where they can run their diary, keep track of their targets and to-dos, manage their bookkeeping, write their policies and much, much more. Noble Minder is also packed with information and ideas for all childminders on all aspects of imaginative play, fun activities, days out and the like.

Noble Minder - The Issues Behind The Business.

Since becoming statutory law, the EYFS has seen a drain of 4,000 childminders from the NCMA (National Child Minding Association) register*. In an industry with 48,000 registered members, this is a serious figure. Faced with endless admin, official targets and Ofsted reports, many childminders have decided to leave rather than carry on with a job which seemed to value admin skills over those of caring and kindness. With an estimated 75,000 childminders in England alone, and the massive childcare gap in this country, the temptation to remain a childminder, only under the radar, must have also become an issue.

As a childminder herself, businesswoman and entrepreneur Lisa Williams was dismayed by the developments that the EYFS was creating:
"I would go to local groups and training and continually hear about how confused and burdened childminders were. So I decided to do something about this. My aim is to bridge the gap between wordy government documents and actual implementation of the requirements".
"The issue is that childminders have been lumped together with a whole raft of other childcare providers, including nurseries and schools. However, whereas you would expect nurseries to comply with certain targets and regulations, this now applies to childminders as well. And this is where Noble Minder comes in."

Noble Minder is committed to ensuring that childminders remain a prominent provider of childcare in England and it is proud to aid childminders in their success.
