Agora marks two years' success story with Baby Party
On Friday 17th October 2008 the Agora Clinic held a double celebration - one marking its second anniversary as Brighton's only IVF clinic, and two celebrating being officially the 5th best clinic in the UK. The Agora team decided that the only fitting way to celegrate two years' outstanding success and the birth of 42 healthy, happy babies was to host an Agora Baby Party.
The Agora team was joined by new parents and many happy, healthy babies and toddlers at its first ever Baby Party which celebrated two fantastic years delivering pioneering fertility services in the local community. Each new parent lit a candle on a small cake to mark the birth of their baby. Each individual cake then joined with others to form the Agora birthday cake. Green balloons were released in the front of the clinic and each baby was presented with a limited edition Agora teddy bear.
When the Agora clinic opened it made local history by being the first IVF clinic in Brighton, meaning patients no longer needed to travel to London for treatment. Since opening to patients nearly two years' ago, 42 babies have been born through treatments at the Agora with many more to be born over the ensuing year. The clinic, which houses one of the most advanced IVF laboratories in the UK, now ranks 5th in the HFEA figures for clinical pregnancies.
The Agora Clinic is the first IVF clinic in the UK to be designed with a quality management system in place from the outset and was certified to ISA9001:2000 standards in May 2008 following the first external audit of its procedures. This is now a requirement of all IVF units in the UK but not all units have achieved this standard.
The medical and scientific consultants working at the Agora Clinic are all internationally renowned experts and pioneers in the field of reproductive medicine with extensive experience in assisted conception. The Agora Clinic also works in close collaboration with the Lister Fertility Clinic, one of the UK's largest and most successful IVF centres.
